Nurturing change in a corporation's
culture, maintaining the positive features of the one already
there, or just encouraging success in any endeavor is no easy
task. Of course, there is much debate surrounding the whole
idea of leadership. Is it an innate quality or is it something
one learns under pressure if and as they rise to the occasion?
Is it a blend of two? One way or the other, understanding
what it means to be a leader and acting on it is a prerequisite.
But when Public Virtues
discusses leadership it extends beyond just the individuals
who are leaders, it includes corporate leadership, service
leadership and brand leadership as well. In our Leadership
Development Program, there are many issues, questions and
case studies that are explored in an effort to provide participants
who are new to the leadership game with a place to start and
more to consider for those who already know that leadership
is not a destination. It is a never ending process of development
underscored by the Socratic proviso to "Know thyself."
When thinking about leadership
ask yourself, what are the characteristics that make a leader
a leader? What leadership style do you exhibit? Does it matter?
What are the difficulties we face as leaders and how do we
overcome them? Or are there just some features of leadership
we must accept rather than overcome? What obligations come
with the territory? Are some leaders really just clever followers?
As an aspiring leader, how do you work for someone who is
less than inspiring? If you are looking for a forum to explore
these issues and more as well as to pick up some strategies
to increase your effectiveness we're ready to talk. Contact us today.
